About Oak Tree Lodge

Oak Tree Lodge is a unique place to stay! Listed as a ‘Shepherd’s Hut’, this luxury lodge is in the grounds of Clotted Cream Cottage, hidden by a hedge and fence so sits within its own outdoor space.
It’s cosy and comfortable, sleeping 4 people, it can be rented independently or with Clotted Cream Cottage.
It’s in the hamlet of Ash, just outside Dartmouth, where it enjoys pleasant country views. Just minutes from Blackpool Sands and Slapton, it offers a beach holiday in a countryside setting.

The accommodation is on two levels and is ideal for families or couples looking for a peaceful rural retreat close to Dartmouth and the stunning Start Bay coastline.

The living area on the ground floor level includes a fully fitted kitchen, shower room with sink and WC, small dining table and a lounge area where the sofa converts into a queen size bed.
There is also a proper single devan bed which has a pull out to make up into a full size double. This is concealed by a privacy curtain.

Up the spiral staircase is another double bed and a quirky ‘Kids Only’ den – accessed by a push along wooden car – that’s complete with an Xbox and various games.

The Shepherd’s Hut has its own entrance and separate grounds, and is separated from the garden of Clotted Cream Cottage by a fence. Adjacent to the dwelling is a chic wooden lodge that is perfect for undercover alfresco dining and as an additional space.

Oak Tree lodge is a separate but neighbouring dwelling from Clotted Cream Cottage. Both properties can be rented independently. A secure fence separates the area where Oak Tree Lodge is located, and windows are directed away from the cottage. Separate parties can rent the cottage and the lodge without impacting on either’s privacy or enjoyment of the outdoor space. Clotted Cream Cottage is listed separately and can be booked independently, although lends itself to larger parties or those holidaying with extended family as both properties can be booked.

PLEASE NOTE, RATES QUOTED ARE FOR OAK TREE LODGE ONLY. If you would like to rent Clotted Cream Cottage as well, please visit the property listing here.

Further Notes

We are unable to accept dogs in Oak Tree Lodge without prior approval. We suggest that guests wishing to holiday with their four legged friends book Clotted Cream Cottage.

The property is most suited to families and couples who want to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of a countryside setting, in the knowledge that they are only minutes from Dartmouth itself and the beautiful South Hams area.

We do not accept stag or hen parties and ask that all guests are respectful of their surroundings and our neighbours.

Oak Tree Lodge is located close to a working dairy farm and as such, guests can expect farm traffic on the lane outside the property. This is infrequent and most of the time, the only noise you will hear is the mooing of cows and tweeting of birds.

There are wooden floors in the lodge and steps leading to the front door.
